Faculty Qualifications

An effective teacher educator at SITE holds:

  • Professional qualifications in teaching (B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent)
  • School teaching experience, particularly at the elementary level
  • Advanced content knowledge in their subject area
  • Ability to differentiate between how children and adults learn
  • Command of latest research and ability to translate theory into practice
  • Reflective and critical practitioner orientation

Faculty Research

Faculty members at SITE are actively engaged in nationally and internationally funded research, including competitive grants supported by global institutions. Research is disseminated through peer-reviewed journals, policy briefs, and academic networks.

SITE actively supports early-career researchers, encouraging small-scale and practice-based studies that allow faculty to investigate classroom realities, mentoring processes, and teacher development pathways.
