Research Vision

Research is central to the mandate and identity of SITE. As the province's apex body for teacher education, SITE recognizes that sustainable educational reform depends on systematic inquiry, evidence-based decision-making, and the generation of contextually relevant knowledge.

Investigating how inquiry-based, experiential, and collaborative learning can enhance teacher effectiveness.

Digital Technology in Education

Evaluating the impact of digital and AI-assisted tools on teacher training and classroom engagement, including digital literacy frameworks.

Access, Equity & Language of Instruction

Researching the relationship between language of instruction, comprehension, and learning outcomes in multilingual settings.

Research Governance

SITE has a robust research governance structure comprising:

  • Research Committee โ€” Sets annual and long-term research priorities, approves proposals, oversees peer review and ethics compliance
  • Ethics Review Committee โ€” Reviews all research involving human subjects, ensuring adherence to SITE's Ethics Guidelines
  • Research Office โ€” Operational hub for proposal development, mentorship, funding applications, and dissemination
