Pakistan's first M.Phil. program specifically designed to develop highly competent teacher educators for B.Ed. Teacher Education Institutions across the country. Developed in partnership with the University of Oxford and the Malala Fund.
The M.Phil. in Education (Teacher Educator Development) is Pakistan's first graduate program specifically designed to develop highly competent teacher educators for B.Ed. Teacher Education Institutions across the country.
Developed in partnership with the University of Oxford and the Malala Fund (2022โ2026), this program draws on best practices from Oxford's M.Sc. in Teacher Education, tailored to Pakistan's unique educational context and needs.
In Pakistan, and all over the world, schoolteachers undergo pre-service teacher education before entering the teaching profession. But what training and education is available for the teacher educators themselves? There is a significant knowledge and skills base needed to be an effective and inspirational teacher educator, but this is not explicitly addressed in most education systems around the world.
SITE's M.Phil. program fills this critical gap. Graduates will go on to teach the B.Ed. program in Government Colleges of Education in their respective districts, where they will develop top-quality schoolteachers for public schools across Pakistan.
